First Day of the Rest of My Life

[Chase]

Mush smile broadened. "That's great. Good fer ya. Merc's been great." He added as an after thought. He honestly did like Mercutio. He hadn't turned on Street after the Ophelia thing. Though he didn't turn on Ophelia either. But he wasn't at all happy with her. Mush hadn't seen hide nor hair of her since she'd called the cops after them and bolted. Mush glared into space remembering the incident. Damn cops. Luckily, Sean and Asher had been smart enough to get him out of there before he stayed to explain to the cops. Which they wouldn't have listened to anyway.

[Asher]

Street murmured her agreement. "I met Feely in the store. She was complainin' about you and Asher. Said you hit her and assulted her and then let Asher have his way with her... I told her ta shut her trap, but Mercury told me ta get gone quick. I came back after she left. Looked real bad too, bruises. I know the story, Asher punched her a couple of times, but Asher punches worse then me so I knew she was lyin'." Street said slowly, chewing a bit. She only started eating after Mush. "Don't be afraid ta ever tell me anythin', 'cause Levi'll tell me anythin' anyways..." She smiled gently.

[Chase]

Mush smiled at Street. "Good ta know." He said his voice trailing off as he attempted to tease her. Maybe it worked, maybe not. He was to tired to notice or to care. He cracked his back against the counter and watched her eat. He closed his eyes to think then stood up. "Yer brudda want meh ta work taday?" He didn't care if he did or not. He had nothing else to do today. He might just go to work for the hell of it just for that reason. Or maybe he'd sell papes again. He'd always enjoyed that. He could use his loud mouth there.

[Asher]

Street shook her head. "Nah only Levi. Ya volunteered but I guess Mercury trusts Levi around her more then ya right now." She stood and hugged him quickly, then looked him in the eye. "Ya gotta be careful. She's a-a... temptress. She'll destroy ya. The only reason she didn't say nothin' about Sean is that now she's been tryin' ta seduce him. Luckily, Levi and Asher got ta him before she could. He's smarter then that, anyways." She hugged him again and said quietly, "I'm sorry it turned out this way... I thought she was a lady, but she's just another girl on the street."

[Chase]

Mush hugged her back tightly. "That's alright. It ain't yer fault Street. I shoulda realized, but i guess i was too blinded ta." He sighed. Maybe Mercutio was right. He shouldn't be around Ophelia anymore. He'd either fall into her clutches or crack and break her face. He smiled at Street. "So what are yous doin' taday?" It was gonna be a slow day, he thought.

[Asher]

Street smiled. "That's good, I'm glad." She smiled then frowned. "I ain't doin' much I suppose. I don't think those two are ever waking up." Levi lay in bed, his arm over his eyes, his breathing slow. Asher lay on his side, an arm thrown over Levi's chest. "He isn't gonna be happy about that..." She giggled.

[Chase]

Mush looked over to see what she was talking about. He saw immediatly. He laughed. "Ya think we should wake 'em up?" He would go out of his way to make Levi mad. He smiled, he liked that idea. He laughed again. Then, bit his lip. Levi had to work today, god knew what Asher was doing, adn Street had no idea what she was doing. He would have better luck going to find new people in the streets. He mocked himself with that idea. He never did that and was not going to start. He was content with what he had.

[Asher]

Street smiled. "No. I'll make them some breakfast and then we can go out." She smiled at him, going back to the stove. She began to make more food for the two sleeping boys. "Are ya alright with that?" She asked, glancing at him. She brushed a hair out of her face and bit her lip.

[Chase]

Mush sighed in mock dissapointment. "I guess. I just really wanted to piss him off today." He smiled at her. "I'm kiddin'. Sorta. Yeh that's fine. It ain't like i got somethin' ta do." He looked back at Asher and Levi. Asher stirred in his sleep and seemed to get closer to Levi. Mush bit back another laugh. He turned to watch Street cook.

[Asher]

Street smiled wrly. "Ya'll make him mad alright, goin' out with me without tellin' him." She chuckled. "See... Even though I know Levi doesn't feel about me like I do him, he still regards me as his. I'm his property now, more or less. He doesn't want my attention ta go ta anyone else. 'Specially someone who he sees as competition. Right now, even Asher's competition."

[Chase]

Mush laughed at this. "Anyone that tried to compete Levi for his goil is crazy. But i doubt Asher is a threat." He told her. He forced himself to resist the impulse to look at Levi again. It was getting late in the afternoon. Probably about lunch time. "Let's go, before they wake up." He chuckled. Street was right. It would tick Levi off to no end if they were both gone when he got up. Good, Mush thought. He needed to pay him back for the incident in the alley.

[Street]

Street tugged on his shirt. She held a piece of paper and a pen to him. "Can ya write them a note? So they don't think Killer got us..." She said passively. She bit her lip, ashamed of her short comings.

[Chase]

Mush put on a pouty face. He didn't want to write Levi a note. He wanted to make him worry and get mad. Mush looked down into Street's face and smiled. She could act like such a five year old somehow. Mush rolled his eyes, but wrote a note anyway. "Happy?" He asked sarcastically. "Now can we go?" He pleaded her.

[Asher]

Street nodded and tucked it in Levi's shirt pocket. "Let's go." She pulled him from the apartment and down the flights of stairs. She emerged in the street, and blinked. "What's goin' on?" She asked, scared. So many people were running every which way. "Mush, what's happenin'?" She grabbed his arm and held tight, trying to avoid people.

[Chase]

Mush held onto her tightly. "I'm not sure. Let's go find someone. Maybe they'd know."He pulled her through the crowd. He held her hand tight so she wouldn't get swept into the crowd. People were pushing him out of the way running the other way. He figured if he went toward what they were running from, he'd find out what it was faster even if he didn't find anyone he knew.
