"Sean is mean, but Levi's worse. Sean's sixteen, so he knows better, but Levi's only fifteen and he's horrible. Sean's a miner, so Oi don't know what he's talking about, and Levi's a common criminal."

Hope's eyebrows raised in surprise. Were they talking about her friend Levi? "Wait, Levi Akecheta?" She looked from Irish to Moira, "When I met him the other day, he was nothing like that at all..." She paused, "He was really nice, and funny." She shook her head as she trailed off.

"Alot of good people steal for their meals. And Sean's a miner because of Gemma. See, Sean filled in for his Da one day in the mines and he saw this little canary and they let him take her home, turns out, the bird was pregnant and Sean raised her young. He kept one and named it Gemma and he takes Gemma into the mine with him. Oi'd hate to see what would happen if Sean lost Gemma... Poor bird's been looking peakish lately..."

"Bless the bird's heart..." She said, "I hope its okay."

Irish and Moira nodded. "Yeah, Levi Akecheta." He said, nodding.

Moira nodded too, "Levi is nice and funny-when he wants ta be. Mostly he's charmin' and sly. Quicker then a jack rabbit when it comes ta robbin'. But, he has a mean streak a mile long. 'Specially when he's been drinkin' with Asher. He's the one that got Asher to drink in the first place. But he's always nice to girls. 'Specially pretty ones."

"Well, most girls. He's real horrible to Street. Though he's changed his attitude towards her since he sliced her stomach open o'couple o'days ago. Real polite and treats her like a porcelin doll." Irish shrugged. Moira nodded.

"But he's mean to me. Blames me for everythin' Asher's been goin' through. Just because Oi..." She looked at her brother in alarm.

"Just because ye what?" He demanded, his eyes narrowed. Moira shook her head violently and remained silent. He shrugged and turned back to Hope. "Yeah... Oi hope Gemma'll be alright. Lately, she's been the only friend Sean's got. Since Uncle Daniel's been ignorin' him 'cause Aunt Sophie's pregnant. He wants this baby to live, so he's been ignorin' his son." Irish shook his head.
