He looked at her then followed her gaze,"I don' normally tell people this, and if ya tell anyone I'm sure Poet'll kill meh for it cause only meh, her and Jackyboy and maybe a few of da olda boys know bout this....but her and I had our once upon a time if ya know what I mean.....and I learned alot from it, I learned that everyone needs to learn how to be on their own, if they can't learn that, then they can't be with somebody else because relying on someone else isn't the way to get by.....and she's learning, she's learning the hard way, she learned really hard when Jack was gone....."he said as he examined the sky for a moment. "You already know that though, you'll be jus' fine it's easy ta tell yer a well rounded goil, well I ain't saying all ya newsie goils ain't well rounded, it's jus some of us learn faster then others...."he murmured he looked down wondering if Poet actually would be ok, but he shook the thought away.

"Well-rounded..." Street said wonderingly. "Well, I don't know about them Newsie gals, 'cause I ain't one. I'm a criminal, remember?" She asked, laughing softly. She shrugged, "I try ta rely on people, especially my friends. Ya can't get by all by yourself. Not all alone, you'll go crazy." She wiggled her fingers cheerfully. "I've seen people go crazy, it ain't pretty."
She whistled and looked up at the sky. "Ever wonder what's up there? I think there's a place where everyone's happy-where everythin's just right, ya know? I think that cloud looks like a fish." She said randomly, pointing at a cloud. "Honest! I do!" She laughed, it carried across the street, several people looked. "I hate it when people look at ya. It's like, 'what did I ever do ta make ya look at me?'"

"I ain't saying it's wrong to rely on others I'm jus' saying you need to be able ta rely on yerself as well,"he said as he looked up at the cloud she was pointing out. "Yeah yer right it does,"he said chuckling softly. He looked back at her,"people think we're strange fer seeing things in a different light than how they see it, that's why they stare, because they don't understand it,"he said pointedly. He grinned and leaned against the side of the building as he looked at her still. "I'm pretteh sure nobody relies on others as much as Poet does, but then again she is rather selective as to whom she relies on so it ain't as bad as I may put it.....yer nicer about her situation then I am..."he pointed out and smiled laughing at himself, he always tried to find the bad parts in Poet, she had hurt him, but then again he had done his share of hurting her as well, he found the bad in her and pointed it out to people with the curiosity as to what they would say about her. Street in this case seemed planted on the fact that there is good in everyone from where he saw it.

Street shrugged. "Maybe they're just scared... People seem ta be afraid of things they don't understand..." Street tilted her head. "Me? I don't understand a lot of things, but I'm not afraid of it all." She sighed happily. "I like clouds, they can change so many different colors. My favorite is when they're white and the sky's a perfect blue. Like today," She gestured skyward. "It reminds me of... My mother. I did't know her, but it does." She shrugged.
