Henri pulled the heavy book down from the shelf. He nearly dropped it, surprised by its weight. He clutched it tight and dragged it to the table he was making his own. Other stacks stood nearby, waiting for him to persue their year old pages. They were books of records. He was looking up families who had avaliable daughters. He'd already met a few... Abby, Moira, Niamh, that girl from twenty-second street, that blonde prostitute near Irving Hall...
He laughed softly, that had been an adventure. Especially when he found the gun under her dress... Henri shuddered at the thought of 'Irish' O'Reilly. Now he was someone he would never, ever fight. He might fight the Asher boy, but never the Indian or anyone else. He wasn't a fighter. He was a talker. He could get a woman (or girl depending) into his bed with one well chosen sentence in his arsenal.
All those romantic books he'd read as a child. Sir Lancelot and Guinevere, Tristan and Isolde, Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth and his lady, Antony and Cleopatra, Odysseus and Penelope; they all filled his memories. They were what he'd dreamt his romantic life would be... But alas, 'twasn't so. Especially not since Claudine had destroyed his view on women as innocent and weak... He turned his thoughts from this painful period in his life to the image of Abby leaving with that Spade man. She hadn't shown up for dinner either.

The sparkling blue eyes of Kitten and Ace danced as they walked down a row of books, both talking softly to one another in French in order to try and keep things semi secretive and between them. Ace turned to Kitten recalling her conversation with Hawk about everything that had been going on lately.
"Et ensuite il m'a regardé et m'a dit qu'il a été désolé que j'aie dû manipuler tout et il s'occuperait de l'accomplissement des chefs ensemble," Ace's accent was very attractive on her especially when she spoke in such perfect French, the words sliding off her tongue smoothly. Kitten giggled lightly and ran a hand through her red hair as she looked at her twin sister.
"Semble que vous et le Faucon partiez gentiment, je regrette que je n'aie pas quelqu'un pour communiquer sur n'importe quel niveau proche, quelqu'un pour aimer, quelqu'un pour soigner," Kitten replied softly as they reached the section they were looking for. Kitten reached up extracting a copy of Romeo and Juliet and she smiled as she ran her hand along the spine of the book and looked over at Ace who had pulled down a copy of Hamlet, before she had turned back to her.
Ace nodded and she and Kitten made their way around the library just to browse the selections when Kitten clumsily bumped into the back of someone's chair and in the proccess dropped her book into a young man's lap.
Ace turned around to look at Kitten. Kitten looked at the young man and her eyes became apologetic,"Je Suis Tres tres Desole,"Kitten began apologizing to the man, who was actually seemingly attractive. Ace took Kitten's arm gently, but did not speak as she looked him up and down for a moment and allowed Kitten to continue apologizing.
((Et ensuite il m'a regardé et m'a dit qu'il a été désolé que j'aie dû manipuler tout et il s'occuperait de l'accomplissement des chefs ensemble-- And then he looked at me and told me he was sorry I had to handle everything and he would see about getting the leaders together, Semble que vous et le Faucon partiez gentiment, je regrette que je n'aie pas quelqu'un pour communiquer sur n'importe quel niveau proche, quelqu'un pour aimer, quelqu'un pour soigner--Sounds like you and Hawk are getting along nicely, I wish I had someone to interact with on any close level, someone to love, someone to care for))

Henri jumped slightly when the book fell in his lap. Romeo and Juliet... "Pas un problème, mon chéri." He replied without thinking. Then he looked around, a excited glint came into his eyes. Twins... "Bonjour, fair ladies. I believe this is your book, madamoiselle." He handed it to the one closest to him, letting his finger brush her finger. "I never knew that one could find goddesses straight out of a Da Vinci in the library." He winked at her, pushing his books aside carelessly. Coal mining had done some good, he was now stronger physically. Horse riding had not done that for him like coal mining had. "What can I do for you, lovely ones?"

Ace tilted her head and watched Kitten take the book from the man,"Bonjour, umm we were just browsing actually..." Ace commented, her accent still apparrent as she looked at him. "I realleh do apologize for my sister's clumsiness,"she stated softly as she let go of Kitten's arm. Kitten smiled at him and looked into his eyes, her own sparkling,"Thank you, pardon my manners, I'm Kitten, this is my sister Ace,"she told him gesturing to herself and then Ace. She grinned as he asked how he could help them and Kitten decided she could risk a joke or two,"Unless you can help a goil find a Casanova there isn't much help needed,"she told him as she batted her eyelashes at him and let her smile meet her eyes.
Ace rolled her eyes, kitten always did try abit too hard to impress men,"Kit....don't say such things, yer gonna get in trouble one of these days like that,"Ace whispered. Kitten ignored Ace's comment and tilted her head at Henri,"Migh I ask your name hun?"she asked sweetly.

Henri stood gallantly and bowed, kissing Kitten's palm then Ace's. Too many men kissed the top of a woman's hand, where it was less sensitive. Henri kissed their palms, it sent shivers up their spines. "Kitten and Ace, I am a lucky man!" he winked again, smiling his crooked smile. "My name is Henri de Lion, formerly of France, currently of Midtown." He chuckled. "Casanova! Really? Ah, what Aphrodite says must be true." he turned to Ace. "You must be her sister Artemis, the huntress of the moon. Just as lovely, but more willing to be chased rather then caught. Am I right?" He asked softly, brushing her cheek gently. "Don't chastise your sister, maybe I like trouble?" He turned to Kitten and smiled. "I see I will have double the trouble today. But alas, a man's life is boring without a challenge."

Ace looked at him her eyes glaring slightly and she stepped back as soon as he touched her,"I get the whole chivalry thing, but you should realleh think about who you try and touch,"she growled defensively it was enough for her to currently have Chase and to be chasing after Hawk, she really didn't need this creep hitting on her too. Kitten on the other hand found it flattering and grinned,"Ignore my sister, she is not as free as I am at the moment,"Kitten said softly as she looked into his eyes. Ace rolled her blue sparkles and stepped to leave,"I'll see you later Kit, I'm not getting in the middle of yer little affairs,"she muttered before turning to leave her sister in the hands of the leech.
Kitten smiled and it reached her eyes,"Well then Henri, may i join you?"she asked gesturing to the table he had been sitting at before her book had fallen into his lap.

Henri grinned. "Well. I see some are not up to a little adventure." He said with mocking sadness. "Well, my little Kitten, you certainly may join me. But would you not rather..." He grimaced. "Ah, no. It will do no good. Come, sit milady," He pulled out a chair beside the one he'd vacated and ushered her into it. "So... You like Romeo and Juliet? This is very new edition. They shortened a few scenes, especially the balcony one. Her awakening passion becomes only a mild crush." Henri murmured, playing with a strand of her hair.

Kitten sat down beside him and looked into his eyes as she tilted her head,"It is a very good piece yes," she replied softly as she watched him play with her hair, she didn't mind, she wasn't like Ace, Ace was only subject to allowing her close knit group of guys get close to her as such. She bit her bottom lip and ran her hand over the cover of the book that she had set down on the tabletop,"You know alot don't you?"she asked him as she looked down from his eyes and at the book absently in slight nervousness,"Don't mind Ace by the way, she's been like that for as long as I can remember, we definately are not identical in our personalities and behavior,"she assured him.

Henri watched her absently. "I know alot about love." He said meaningfully, ignoring the look the old librarian gave him quickly. "More then you think..." He dropped her strand of hair and let his finger slide down her neck. "Now... Why have you come to the library on this lovely afternoon, beside to meet me, of course." He looked out the tall windows lining the wall. "Such a lovely blue sky. But less lovilier then your eyes, of course."

Kitten smiled and attempted to hide the small blushing that was covering her cheeks. She followed his gaze toward the windows and she nodded abit,"Very good point....I do not know, Ace wanted to pick up a book to pass some time, she's been having a hard time handling herself, she's been struggling with her own love, and she is getting over appendicitis, it's healing but she needs something to keep her mind off the world, I offered to come with her,"she said feeling like she was rambling. She looked back at him and released a small purr when he ran his finger along her neck, she bit her bottom lip and kept her eyes locked with his,"Would you like to take this conversation somewhere else?"she asked him softly.

Henri smiled. "So the kitten can purr," He smirked. "This must be fate, my last name is de Lion, the lion in French..." He grinned. "I was thinking the same thing, so where to, milady?" He asked, standing and helping her out of her chair. "I don't care, really." He slipped three dollars on the table, something to bribe the librarian with, so he wouldn't interrupt them.

She tilted her head and smirked when he helped her out of her chair. She leaned forward bringing her lips to his ear,"Wherever you want to take me,"she whispered in his ear almost seductively as she took his hands in hers. "Maybe you can teach this kitten some tricks..."she added softly before pulling back and winking at him.

Henri grinned. "Oh, I like you!" He winked at her and took her hand and lead her out of the library. "Let's see... We're in Queens now so... To your place!" He pulled her along the street, toward the Brooklyn bridge so that they could cross over into Manhattan. "So, tell me about yourself. Like I am Henri de Lion, as you know, and I am from Lyon, France and am currently eighteen years of age."

She followed him but corrected his direction,"I'm from Harlem hun...Ace is Manhattan,"she told him, redirceting their destination as she walked beside him. "I am from France, Ace and I do nottalk about our pasts much actually...I'm pretty outgoing and I'm 16,"she told him, keeping her description of herself rather simple. She squeezed his hand gently and hoped that once they made it to their destination that they would be able to find some sort of privacy.
