Abby looked down at the table, a full flush on her face now. "I'm not waiting for anyone. I was hoping to find Spade here, but..." She stopped. She looked up at him slowly. "Then i found you, or you found me. I thought if he saw us together it would make him jealous but then i got talking to you and it's wrong to do that to ya 'cause ya seem like a nice guy an' all. I'm sorry." She started talking hurridly. She bit her lip in anticipation. She wasn't sure if she should have told him all of that. What if he didn't want to talk to her anymore, or take her out? She figured she should leave but he stopped her by talking.

Henri raised his eyebrows. "Well." He said, he turned thoughtful. "Spade huh? Is he a large man who looks rather dumb and he swaggers around..." Henri asked. Then, he grinned wickedly. He looked her up and down slowly. "Then let us make him really jealous..." He leaned across the narrow table, standing slightly. He placed his fingers under her chin and lifted her face so that she looked at him. He stroked up her neck, across her cheek, and then kissed her very gently, and very slowly. Not a lot of force, but enough that she'd know he was there.

Henri leaned toward Abby. This shocked her. She expected him to be upset she had planned on using him or something. Anything but this. It was unexpected. Abby gasped and then he kissed her. To her suprise, she kissed him back. Not an extreme kiss, but gently, like his. She pulled back slightly and stared at him. A blush crept into her face, but she didn't care. She bit her bottom lip once more and smiled. "So how bout dinner?" She whispered.

Henri smiled. He had the perfect line for this... "I can survive off you alone," He purred, brushing hair out of her face and stroking up her cheek bone. "But, yes, I would not want you to become tired... I have some interesting things planend for us..." He trailed off significantly. He looked out the window, sighed, and looked at her out of the corner of his eyes. "I hope you will not reject me too harshly, my sweet Aphrodite..." He smiled his special smile, the one that lifted only half his mouth up.

Abby smiled and stood up. She did not wait for him to get up, as she had planned on. She merely stood up and walked around to his side of the table. She did not know why but she sat next to Henri. She smiled at him again. "I'm no Aphrodite." She said. Her eyes finished her sentence by thanking him. She sat so close to him she could smell him. It was strange, but she liked it. Henri smelled... different. Foreign almost. Abby contained herself from laughing at the irony.

((Sorry gonna post for Spade on Ace's account ^^)) He had just finished helping Poet with some planning and situating her room at the Lodging house for the hundredth time this week and he had decided to maybe go and see what Abby was up to. He had seen Ace on her way back to the lodging house and she had informed him that she had seen Abby at Tibby's. He was abit relieved too because he was starving after working under Poet's hands, she was a pretty strict organizer when it came to things. Walking through the door he looked around and saw Abby with a boy, he didn't much see the problem in it, he wasn't one to jump to conclusions as it was. He strolled over to the table and whistled flirtatiously,"Well my my Miss Abby aren't you jus' the most gorgeous person in this place,"he mused to her as he stood beside the table and looked down at her. He grinned,"Who's yer friend doll?"he asked as he offered his hand to Henrie,"Name's Spade, nice ta meet ya,"he said kindly to Abby's company. He looked at Abby and grinned,"Ace pointed me in yer direction said somethin' 'bout how ya were hopin' ta see me,"he said winking at her and grabbing a nearby chair to sit across from her.

Henri leaned closer to Abby. "Oh, my mistake. Aphrodite was never my type. You are a goddess incarnate, I pledge myself to you, O Goddess Abby. You are the goddess of my heart." Henri grinned, hoping she didn't think it too clique or cheesy. He jumped when he heard a male voice. Hadn't he said he wasn't not a fighter, no matter hos beautiful the girl was? Henri grinned. Spade. Perfect. The idiot on two legs. "Je ne parle pas d'anglais..." He smiled charmingly, fixing on his face, an innocent 'I don't know what you are talking about...' look. He looked at the man's hand then shook it once, briefly, no pressure. Like he'd been taught. He tried to keep a blank face, but he wanted to frown at what Spade was saying. Like she was hoping to see him?. A malaria carrying insect wouldn't be happy to see him... Henri politely looked at his drink, swirled it around, and drained it in a large gulp. "Désolé... Je dois aller à la maison maintenant. J'irai faire à bientôt, la déesse?" Even though he knew Abby probably didn't speak French, he winked, letting her know that they were sharing a private joke. He kissed her palm, winked at Spade (he wasn't petty) and extracted himself. "I 'ave been eenchanted, mademoiselle." He said, feigning a heavy accent and broken English. He headed towards the door, fell into a crowd, and emerged near the bar, sat where he could watch (and maybe hear) and settled down with another drink.
((Translation: 1-I don't speak English. 2-Sorry... I must go home now. I will see you later, goddess?))

Abby smiled and laughed at Henri. He certainly did know how to charm a girl. Then, she jumped and slid away from him. SHe knew Spade's voice anywhere. She looked up at him. "Spade!" She said suprised. She watched, anxious, as he and Henri exchanged hellos. She hadn't realized she was holding her breath until it came out in a huff. She smiled quickly to cover it. Spade had never been one to jump to conclusions. Thankfully. Abby thought. When Henri got up to leave he spoke to her in what she assumed was French. She didn't know what he said, but she smiled when he winked at her. She figured he was saying he wanted to see her again since what he said was a question. When he was gone, she turned to Spade. He might not have been one to jump to conclusions, but Abby on the other hand, had known too many liars. "You was with Ace? She told ya where ta find meh?" She didn't like to pry. But she did like to know what was going on.

Spade shook his head slightly, he actually knew exactly what the boy had said, being around Ace and Kitten half your life you learn alot about French, hell being around Poet you learn alot about Italian too. He ignored it though acting as if he did not understand just to phase the two before he turned to Abby and tilted his head, ruffling his hair with his hand. "No I wasn't with Ace doll, I was helpin' Poet rearrange her room at the lodging house and when I decided ta come visit ya, I bumped inta Ace on my way to the lodgin' house and she said I could find you here,"he explained to her, he wasn't the lying type, nor the cheating type, but he still wasn't even quite sure what he and Abby were at the moment. He looked don slightly and sighed figuring if he was going to be honest through and through he should admit that he knew what her company had said. "By the way in case you did not know, yer friend said he doesn't speak english, he had to go home, and see you later goddess...ya know him well?"he asked her politely, he wasn't going to hold a thing against her, he cared too much abouther to do so. He reached over slowly and took her hand in his,"Abby can I ask ya somethin?"he asked her in a soft voice for only her to hear.

Abby's face flushed when Spade translated for her. "Oh." Was all she could say. "Actually, i just met him today." She looked out the window. She looked back at her hand when he held it. She looked from his hand to his eyes. He was looking at her waiting for her response. She nodded slowly. "Of course ya can. Ya can ask meh anythin'." She smiled at him.

He was glad to hear she had just met him, so he wasn't so worried about what he was about to ask her now. "Abby, I can't get ya off my mind, all I seem ta do is think of you ever since we met, and I was wonderin' if you'd like to be my goil?"he asked her, his voice came out abit nervous but he intertwined his fingers with hers and he looked into her eyes hoping her answer was yes. He awaited her response silently as he looked her over, everything about her was amazing, her eyes, her perfect lips, her personality, and every time she said his name it made his heart skip a beat.

Abby couldn't breath. She gasped. She held Spade's hand tightly. "Spade. I- i don't. I don't know what ta say."Abby stuttered. She looked into his eyes and saw them sparkle. She smiled at him. "I- wow. I didn't expect this." She swallowed with some difficulty. "Let meh think about this ok?" She took slow breaths. She got another drink and got Spade one too. She looked out the window as she waited for it. She wondered why she was hesitating about this. Spade was great. He was nice and honest, everything Abby could have ever asked for. So what's my problem? she asked herself.

Spade nodded in understanding,"Of course ya can have time ta think about it Abby, I don't wanna rush ya into anything ya don't want,"he told her. When their drinks were brought over he took a sip of his and watched her as she looked out the window, he wondered what was going through her head, maybe he had picked a bad time? Maybe she liked someone else and he had interpretted her actions toward him as something else. He looked down into his glass before bringing it to his lips again and he began to think that maybe he shouldn't have come, but it was too late now.

Abby sighed and shut her eyes. Her mind was split in two. On one side she saw Spade, he was smiling like he always did when she looked at him. On the other side, she saw Henri. Some guy she'd only just met, and yet, here he was, in her mind. She bit her lip and opened her eyes. She looked back at Spade and took a drink. When she sat her glass down, she noticed that Spade looked unsure of something. Abby instantly felt bad. She smiled at him. "Spade i like ya i do. Honest. It's just that- well, that was realleh sudden. I mean, i know i shouldn't have left ya like i did. It was a mistake. I'm sorreh." She smiled again and took his hand again. "Come on. Let's go talk about this somewhere else." Abby never really was one for crowds, but she wanted to go somewhere different so Henri wouldn't hear them. She had no intentions of cheating on Spade, but she couldn't stand the thought of seeing the hurt in Henri's eyes.

He nodded at her suggestion to go somewhere more private and he squeezed her hand gently as he stood,"should we head ta the lodging house? Most everyone'll be out anyway, and I'm sure we can find a quiet place there if you like?"he suggested as he pulled some change from his pocket and set it on the table to pay for what they had drank. He held her hand still, never wanting to let go and he looked into her eyes, allowing his smile to stay on his face as he led her to the door,"That or we can go ta the park I guess,"he added a second suggestion just in case she didn't like the first.
