Abby walked into Tibby's and slid into a booth. "A soda please." She said to the waiter. She sighed it had been a no go at Irving Hall. She really wanted to meet someone new. But sadly no one seemed interested. She was starting to lose faith in herself. "Thanks." She said as the waiter came back with her soda. She sipped it slowly, praying for someone to come in and talk to her. Preferably a guy, but some girl friends wouldn't be bad either.

Walking into Tibbys, Snoop felt like she was in outside territory. She was more accustomed to Harlem, but she had been hired by someone to see where his wife was going to see if she was cheating on him, and she was. Telling the people that they were being cheating on was easy, it was just listening to them complain and sob and wail that got on her nerves. Seeing as she was in Manhattan already she decided she might as well eat something. Looking around it looked as though many tables were taken by either newsies or other people. 'Great,' she thought starkily, 'the one day I go into a restaurant outside of Harlem and it's crowded. Woop-de-freaking-do.'
Looking around she noticed a girl sitting by herself, obviously new. New people interested her, lest to say, so after finally seeing there was no other option, she walked over to the girls table. "Excuse me," Snoop said, "But is anyone sitting here?" Her accent was rather fluent in her words, but easy to understand if you knew someone Romanian.

Abby was suprised to hear someone talking to her. Had her prayer been answered? She looked up. Yes it sort of was. There was a nice, pretty looking girl looking down at her. "Yes. I mean no. No one is sitting here. Please." Abby motioned for her to sit. "My name is Abby. Most people call me Honey." Abby smiled at the girl, still sipping her soda.

Snoop sat down, and listened to the girl introrducer herself. She wasn't quite sure if she should tell Honey her real name, but she did say her name first so she guessed she out to. "My name is Bianca, most people, well, everyone practically, calls me Snoop." Did she trust the girl? Not very much, seeing as she just met her. But apparantly when you talked to someone you got friends.
"So are you a newsie?" she asked. Most people who had names like Honey generally worked as newsie, but you could never be to sure.

Honey looked at Snoop. "No, I'm not a Newsie. I think i might like to be though. What does it take to be a Newsie? See, i'm new here." Honey seemed to like the girl. She seemed nice, but Honey felt like she was holding something back. She just wasn't quite sure. "Do you want something?" She motioned toward the waiter. "My treat." She looked at Bianca with an honest smile.

Snoop thought about it, "To be a newsie, I guess have to know how to exagerate the truth, make headlines sound interesting." She listened to Honey's offer, and thought about it. If she didn't have to pay... "Water would be nice," she replied, watching as the waiter went to get the glass of water. Honestly she felt a bit like an outsider still, being in another borough. As soon as the waiter came back she thanked him and took a sip from the glass. "So Honey, what brings you to New York?" she asked. That was a question she asked anybody who came to New York, why were they there? It wasn't really out of curiousity, more of a habit really.

Abby took a slow sip of her soda. She was thinking. "I was a runaway. I didn't like my home anymore so i left. I ended up here in Manhattan." She shrugged. She didn't go into detail. Her family had always been a touchy subject. "People treat me like i'm different, ya know? Like i'm the new goil in school or somethin'." She sighed. "Ya don't look like a Manhattan goil. Where you from?"

Snoop nodded, "I'm originally from Bucharest, Romania, but I guess you could call me a Harlem newsie," she shrugged at he last part, "since I work there mainly." Bucharest was a touchy yet dismissable subject, Harlem was easier to talk about. It was her home away from home. Besides Harlem was easier to work in since it seemed like a more modern, Americanized Bucharest.
Taking another sip from her water, she asked, "Guessing by your accent your from here? Because most people have an accent from where they are from."

Abby smiled. "Guilty as charged. I was born and raised here. I just moved away from home." She twirlied around her glass, something she did often when she was figuring out what to say. "So, you're from Harlem? What brings you down here to Manhattan?" She could tell Snoop didn't want to talk about Romania. She let the subject drop. Though she was curious and wanted to know more.

Snoop shrugged, "Eh, I have two jobs... sort of. So I had to come to Manhattan." Normally she would of said she was visiting someone, but it couldn't possibly hurt to tell the girl she had another job, well, more prefered profession. Taking of a sip of water she glanced out the window and back to the girl. "So why they call you Honey? Everybody's got a story behind their name."

Abby looked at Snoop. Two jobs? That must be tough on anyone. Abb wanted to help her but didn't know how. She thought about Snoop's question. "Well," she began, "everyone calls me Honey mostly because everyone thinks I'm so sweet." She said it sarcasticaly with an eye roll. But they don't really know me, she thought to herself. No one really knew the true side of Honey. When someone got her mad; she got seriously p.o.ed. "What about you. Why do they call yous Snoop?" Abby could have guessed but she wanted Snoop to tell her her story.

"They call me Snoop cause of my second job. I sneak around, find out things, kind of like a Romanian Sherlock Holmes," Snoop shrugged, "but lately the only things people want to know are if their spouse is cheating on them. I'd snoop for anyone who has a better job for me." That was true. Mostly thats all that she ever got. If anyone had a better job for her she'd do it for free. Hopefully that wouldn't spread fast. She could practically invision what everyone who knew her would think, Snoop? giving away a free job? That wouldn't go pretty well if she got bombarded with questions.

Abby sipped her drink thoughtfully. She made a hmm noise. "Why don't people trust each other anymore?" She said. She was only thinking it and hadn't realized she'd said it out loud. When she did she blushed slightly, but controled it. She was getting better at that. She waved to the waiter and ordered a water for herself. "So what are ya doin' here now?" She tilted her head like a dog and drank the rest of her soda.

"Because everybody lies," Snoop replied, "It's only human for people to lie. That's why people don't trust eachother anymore." Taking a sip of water, she thought about what that simple thing: Everybody lies. Her father had lied, she was pretty sure her mother had lied. Everybody lied. Honey's question brought her out of her thoughts, and she simply responded, "What I've been being hired for lately. I had to tail a man's wife to see if she was cheating, and she was. Which doesn't surprise me. I've had to tail her at least three times now, the lady does not get the fact that once someone divorces you for cheating that your odds of getting divorced again are fifty fifty."
Did Snoop ever tell people about what happened with her job? Not normally. But it couldn't hurt to tell someone.

Abby thought about what Snoop had said. True, everyone did lie. But did everyone, really? She hoped not. She didn't want to think of the possibility of Irish lying to her. It was too awful.
"Wow, that has to be an awful job. How do you live like that?" Abby was completely perplexed that someone could do that for a living. She knew she would never be able to do that. Knowing her she'd completely flip out on the person. Or the one that had hired her. She was known for flipping out on people when she was smaller. That was one of the reasons she had run away. Her mother didn't understand her and pushed her aside like she didn't matter.
