Ophelia caught his face and wiped a tear away, "It will be fine." She murmured, barely glancing at him.
Street sighed and opened her eyes a little. They were grey and looked like glass. "What's wrong, Street?" Levi asked, leaning over her. Street glanced at him, then she continued to look at the sky.
"Why are ya... cryin'... All of ya...?" She asked them. "If ya're cryin' over me... Don't. I won't have it. I'm just... Street." She told them, tilting her head a bit. "Do ya remember that converstation... I told ya about, Levi?" She asked. He nodded.
"Yeah, you and Hawkeye talked about whether or not you'd be remembered..." Levi murmured. "Well, you won't. 'Cause you ain't gonna die. Not today, not tomorrow, not for a long, long time." Levi told her fiercely. Street nodded.
"I see. Ya're really blunt, ain't ya Levi?" Street asked. He nodded, smiling with her.

Mush let out a small laugh. "Yeah, Street. Ya're not gonna die. Ya can't. Ya still hafta bug the heck outta Levi. Ya're the only one who can." He gripped her hand and squeezed it tightly. "Ya're more than just Street. More than that. We love ya Street. We can't lose ya." He looked at Levi and nodded. Boo might not love her the way she wanted, but Mush knew he loved her in some way. He looked over at Ophelia. She, suprisingly, was the stronge one in all of this. She kept telling him it would be okay, and he believed her. It would be just fine.

Street smiled. "Yeah, I gotta keep hidin' around the corner and stalkin' him."
"What would I do without you stalkin' me?" Levi asked sarcastically, smilign slightly. He looked at Mush. "We should take her inside someplace for the night. So she doesn't get cold and stuff."
"Where will we go?" Ophelia asked.
Levi shook his head. "Where will we go..." He pointed to himself, Mush, and Street. "You have to go back to the rich people's place."
"No, I do not have to. If I want to stay out, I might." Ophelia said, nodding. "Unless... You do not want me to come?"
"Nah, we want ya ta come," Street murmured, touching her hand. "Right, Levi."

Mush laughed along with the rest of them. Levi said something about taking Street somewhere. But where? Fear struck his heart when Levi told Ophelia she had to leave. He didn't want her to go anywhere away from him. She kept him calm. "Yeah we want ya here." He smiled a thank you at Street. "Uh- we could take her ta one of the Houses?" He had ment it as a suggestion but it came out like a question. "Unless ya know somewhere that'd be betta for her, Levi." He looked up at him.

Levi frowned for a bit. "Yeah, I do know somewhere. Do you know Mercury who runs the General Store in Manhattan? Well, I know for a fact he has an extra room in the back with a cot set up for kids on the street. He'll keep us warm and fed. So long as we pay him back..." Levi suggested, looking at them.
Ophelia nodded. "Sounds wonderful to me. Are you certain he will not mind?" She asked.
Levi nodded. "I'm sure, he never turns anyone away. Plus, I can trade him for workin' hours. I'll work in the store while we're there. See, his wife's pregnent again and on top of that, she's tryin' to work in the store and take care of their other kid while he's workin' too." Levi nodded. "Don't worry, I'll take care of it." He told Mush. "He's not that far away, either."

Mush nodded. He knew of Mercury. He was a good guy, they could trust him. He helped Levi pick Street up then, handed her over completely. He walked with Ophelia, but he was close enough that if Levi needed him he'd be there. He took her hand as they walked. He thought for a while then finally said, "Ya don't hafta work alone. I'll help ya out while Ophelia takes care of Street. It would take me mind offa things." No matter what Levi said he was going to help. As much as he could. He felt this was partially his fault. If he hadn't lost his mind and punched Levi in the face, he wouldn't have gone crazy and pulled his knife, and Street wouldn't be in this state.

Levi took Street carefully, she was light, which made his job easier. He grunted, almost shrugged but thought better of it. "One of you will have to knock." He said quietly when they reached the small, well-kept store. Levi could see Mercury-who had slightly red hair and a strong face-leaning against the counter talking to his heavily pregnent and beautiful wife, Scarlett. Street moaned in pain.
"Levi, it hurts..." She hissed.
"I know, I'm sorry. I'll set you down soon," he told her. "Knock on the door!" He snapped at the other two. Ophelia reached out her pale, slender hand and knocked tentatively. Mercury's head snapped up and he crossed to the door and opened it.
"I'm sorry, we're closed-" He stopped when he saw Street. "Scarlett, send Eliot up for some extra sheets and towels. Put them on the cot in the back room." He gestured for Levi, Ophelia, and Mush to follow him. He lead them through the spotless store to a room in the back. It was half storage room and half bedroom. A small iron bed with clean mattress sat against the wall, with a bedside table, chair, and dresser around it. On the other side were covered boxes of various shapes and sizes. "Put her down here." Levi did as he was told. A small boy with reddish hair came in and handed the sheets and blankets to his father. "I'm gonna cover the mattress and then you can put her down again." Then he covered her with a blanket. "Now, what happened? She's been stitched up, but what happened?" He asked sternly.

Mush followed Levi into the back room, towing Ophelia behind him. Mercury, he supposed, asked what happend and Levi looked to hurt to tell him. Mush took a ragged breath and told him the whole story. Starting from when he punched Levi in the face and why up to the present. Merc followed thoughtfully and when Mush finished he looked down instead of at Levi. He looked at Ophelia when she squeezed his hand, but quickly looked back down. He shut his eyes and tried to breath evenly.

Mercury sighed. "Huh. Well, that explains that." He ran a hand through his hair and tilted his head at the same time Ophelia did. She was standing next to him, looking at Street. "Well, we have medicine that will help her for now. Scarlett!" He called. "Get some of that medicine in the cabinet behind the counter!" He told her. Moments later, his wife with her dark hair and pink cheeks entered the room. She gave the medicine to him and ran a hand through her son's hair.
"She'll be alright, won't she?" Scarlett asked. Mercury nodded.
"This medicine is expensive, boys. Either you pay for it, of work it off." He told them as he gave her some of the medicine to sip. "There you go, girl. Take it all down." He murmured gently to her.
Levi nodded. "I'll work it off. I swear, as long as I have to."
"You can start now." Mercury told him, his back still turned. Scarlett smiled and lead Levi to the front room.
"Here's an apron, wipe the counter down and if anyone comes in, smile and ask what you can do for them. No attitude now. If they don't have money, check their name on the list. If their name is on the list, don't give them anything. If it isn't, they're good to go." She told him. "I'll just be in the parlor through that door if you need me. You'll do fine. Eliot! Come on now!" The boy scurried from the back room and followed his mother to the parlor.

Mush looked at Ophelia and he told her with his eyes he'd be back. He followed Levi and Scarlett into the front room. "Ma'am. I'd like to help him too." He said taking off his hat. He glanced at Levi and lifted his chin slightly. Scarlett handed him an apron and walked off to the parlor. "I'm not lettin' ya do this alone Levi. It's not entirely ya're fault." He took a broom and started to the other end of the store.

Levi grunted. "It is my fault, Mush. I was the one who was stupid enough to drink, and then stupid enough to egg you on, and then stupid enough to try and stab you. I mean, you're my best friend! I promised my grandfather I wouldn't use my knife unless it was against someone who wanted to harm me." He said, his voice shaking. He dry sobbed and paused in his wiping of the counter. "Plus, I hurt Street. Street! She never hurts anybody. Even if she was starving, she wouldn't kill a fly. Why'd it have to be her of all people? I could've controlled the knife, I didn't have to stab her, I was trained to use that thing since I was five!" He placed his head in his hands. He couldn't stop now that he'd started. He wiped a tear away impatiently. Warriors didn't cry.

Mush paused on his way to the back. "Yeah you did do all that, but ya wouldn't have pulled the knife if i hadn'ta punched ya." He took a deep breath. "She's gonna forgive ya. I know it. She can't stay mad at ya." He went to turn around and talk to him, but he felt the broom in his hand and then thought of Street again. He sighed and began sweeping there. He tried not to notice the tear Levi wiped away. He smirked, his back to Levi. He had never once seen anyone make Levi cry. Until Street comes along.

Levi shook his head. "Naw, even though you punched me, I shouldn't have pulled my knife. That was stupid of me." He wiped his eyes again. "Damnit! She makes no sense. I stab her and then she turns around and tells me not to cry..." He murmured to himself, wiping the counter violently. "She's insane, she's a stalker..." He said, "No good to hang out with her. I already encourage her enough... She's gonna be unstopable now..." He continued under his breath.

Mush couldn't help it anymore. He let out a laugh. One he couldn't stop. He actually leaned on his broom so he didn't fall over. Once he controlled himself he explained himself. "Levi, i hate ta burst ya're bubble but uh she's gonna be around a lot more than ya think." He looked back to find Levi's confused stare. He chuckled again. "Street's gonna be me sista soon. Well she kinda already was but now it's real. I just don't know how- I don't even have a ring.." He turned around to continue sweeping. He mumbled the last part to himself unaware that Levi was still listening.

Levi grinned. "Ah, you're gonna ruin your life." Levi laughed. He looked around. "Look, there's jewerly there, maybe you can work somethin' out with Mercury..." He winked. "After all, he's married. Look, he's been married for two years and they already have one kid and now Scarlett's pregnent again. They think it might be twins this time." Levi laughed. "Once they have kids, they just sort of... fill out." He laughed, leaning over the counter. "That's priceless. Man, I'm never gettin' married. Not to anybody." Then his face darkened and he continued to wipe the counter violently. "Especially not to any blonde hair, freckled, shoeless, stalker freak." He said under his breath dangerously. He rubbed at a spot quickly. "Come on, you stupid smudge..."
