Brooke had left Sean at the train station. He had to go out of town to the mine for work. She hadn't liked him leaving, but he'd be back he told her he would. She smiled as she remembered this. Once he'd gone, she remembered she hadn't eaten since the day before she came back. She was hungry. She decided to go to Ringley's for a bite to eat.
She knew of a short cut through an alley but most stayed away from it. When she'd heard the rumor of people getting hurt and robbed in alleys, she told Broadway, Asher her brother, to steer clear of them. But she couldn't help herself. She was starving. She walked off the road into the short cut and was emersed in total darkness. It was as if the world around her didn't exist anymore. She blinked rapidly, getting used to the dark. Then she heard them. Some guys whispered farther into the alley. Thinking they were drunk men, Brooke ignored them and kept walking. Even though she was hungry, she was strong.

Killer waved his hand impatiently. "You ain't understandin' me. The Boss said no killin's." The man said to him. Killer curled his lip.
"Look man, back off, or it'll be your throat I'm slitting." He hissed. He looked over their shoulders. "Shut it. Prey." He gestured to Brooke. "Nice prey too." He chuckled darkly. The men gave him weird looks and scurried off. He approached her. "Hey... Didn't they ever tell you to not walk alone?" He asked her. "Something bad might happen." He told her. "Something like... This." He wrapped his left hand around her throat and slammed her into the wall, not caring if her head hit or not.
"Now, what shall I do to you?" He asked curiously. He touched the top of her skirt. "Not yet?" He asked, licking her cheek. "Okay, maybe... This?" He dragged his knife across on of her palms, leaving a thin line of blood in its wake. He slammed her head off the wall and tied a blindfold around her eyes. He pushed her down to the ground and kicked her in the stomach... Hard. He drew his steel toed boot back again and kicked her in the ribs. He placed his knife along her thigh. "Did you the Boss doesn't want us killing anyone? Well, I understand that-attracts to much attention. But see, my blade has been dry for to long now. Can you help me with this problem?" He asked politely before stabbing her leg. He twisted the knife. "Oh... Was that you leg?" He asked, laughing.
He kicked her again, and punched her several times over the head. Then he snapped his head around. "S***." He swore. Killer yanked his knife out of her flesh, wiped it on her shirt and he disappeared into the shadows as a policeman came into the alley.
"Anyone here?" The man called. Killer smirked. She wouldn't answer. She was to close to death.

Brooke gasped when this guy came up beside her. She breathed out. "Hi, i was just-" Her words were cut off by him grabbing her throat and slamming her into the wall of a building. She tried preying his fingers from her throat. She went to slap him when his other hand went to her skirt. Bad idea. He lifted his knife and slashed at her hand, leaving a thin line of blood. Brooke was never one for blood, especially hers. She swallowed begging herself not to throw up. He drove the knife into her leg and she fell. She screamed as he turned it. She heard him swear and the knife was gone, but the pain hadn't left. Her breath was ragged and she floated in and out of consiousness. She heard someone ask if anyone was in the alley, but she was too weak to say anything. Instead, she let out a small whimper and twitched. She knew nothing after that. Her last thought before she blacked out was I'm sorry Sean I think i'm dyin'. And she went still.
