Chase smiled and let go of her waist slightly. "Right this way." He said holding out his hand to her. He lead her up to the room. Once up there, Chase looked around. Most everyone was sleeping. Chase led Ace over to his bunk and had her lay there. The top of the bunk was empty since the guy that was usually there was out- drinking probably. "I'll be right up here if ya need meh." He pointed to the top bunk from underneath. He waited until she was laying down before he climbed up.

She watched him climb up and she looked up at the wood above her head and sighed softly."Chase..."she whispered as she rested her hands on her stomach, she still felt extremely unsafe eve in a room full of people, they were all asleep as it was, but she felt uncomfortable lying there by herself. She turned on her side and rested her hands under her head,"I know this may be a weird request...but"she started still in a whisper. "would ya be against layin' down hereh with meh?"she finished softly, it was embarrassing how vulnerable she felt, and how fragile, she had never ever asked a guy to lay with her before, but she felt so uncomfortable and she felt as though it would make her feel more safe.

Chase looked down at her from over the bunk's edge. "Sure. If it'll help ya feel bettah." He rolled off the bunk landing expertly on his feet. He sat down on the edge of her bed. He looked at her as she rolled over onto her side, and laid down next to her. He faced to door. THen he rolled back over and propped his head up on his arm and he looked at her. "Do ya feel bettah?" He asked quietly, not wanting to wake anyone up.

She looked into his eyes and smiled abit,"Yeah...I fell bettah....alot bettah...thanks,"she muttered as she scooted closer to him. She was hesitant though on exactly what her boundaries were with him now, he had kissed her, what had that meant? Did it mean he wanted to be with her at all, was she allowed to hold him? To lean against him? She didn't know. She closed her eyes and took in a few calming breaths,"Chase....what were yer intentions...when ya kissed meh?"she asked him her voice still a whisper as to not wake anyone. She kept her eyes closed as she waited for his response and she kept the small distance between them there in case it was not her place to close it.

Chase wrapped an arm around Ace. He closed the space between them. "I meant whatever ya wanted meh ta mean." He laid his head on the pillow and shut his eyes. He sighed deeply. He liked being close to her. But it was late. "What are ya doin' tomorrow?" He asked quietly and half asleep.

She felt his arm around her and the space between them close and she opened her eyes and ran a hand through his hair before wrapping her arm around his waist. "I want it ta mean a few things...but it's realleh up ta you.... I mean I'd like it to mean that ya want ta be with meh..."she whispered softly. She sighed in content and leaned against him."Tomorrow? nothin otha than sellin' papes as far as i know...and that's even if I can walk...I may need some help..we can always sell togetha..."she suggested.

Chase felt her run a hand through his hair. He opened his eyes. "Of course i'll be with ya."He kissed her forehead gently. He smiled at her. "If ya need meh, i'm there." He closed his eyes again. He hoped sleep would help her recover. He would still help her sell her papes even if she could walk. He could hear her breathing slowly but he didn't know if she was asleep or not he opened his eyes and saw her looking over his head. He looked over his shoulder but didn't see anyone so he figured she was thinking about something. "What's wrong?" He whispered.

She shook her head lightly at his question and instead she looked away from over his shoulder and she rested against him with her face burried comfortably into his shoulder. "Nothin'....I'm glad ta hear that Chase....I'll be yers and only yers how's that sound?"she muttered into his shoulder. She held him close and listened to his breathing and his heartbeat, it was soothing and relaxing and she closed her eyes feeling the drowsiness begin to hit her,"I'm lucky...."she murmured.

Chase smiled at her. He shut his eyes again. He heard the distant sound of thunder and sighed at the sound of rain as it hit the roof. His muscels relaxed. The rain had always put him to sleep. Even as a child on the streets when he was getting soaked by it. "Nah," he whispered in her ear. "I'm the lucky one."

Ace listened to the rain and in a few moments after he spoke his sweet words she fell asleep soundly in his arms.

The next morning, Chase woke up to the sun shining in his eyes. No one else was awake yet. It must be a slow morning, he thought. He looked over at Ace, who was still sleeping. He retracted his arm from around her slowly. He carefully got up and walked over to the sink. He splashed cold water on his face. He looked around more clearly. Some people were up but they'd gone already. Chase wondered what had awakened him. He'd only gotten a few hours of sleep. There was nothing unusual going on here. He looked around again, confused.

Ace groaned in her sleep and turned over a whine escaping her lips. She was shifting around way too much for comfort. Nightmares, Killer's face, the man, the blade, blood. She screamed and sat up in a jolted manner tears streaming down her pale cheeks, her knees pulled to her chest at this point and she was shaking. She didn't even notice Chase had gotten up, she had forgotten he had even been sleeping with her.

Chase jumped slightly when he heard Ace's scream. He ran over to her and sat down on the bed again. He wrapped an arm around her. "Ace, it's ok." He wiped the tears from her cheeks. "Calm down. It's ok. I'm here." He hugged her tightly.

As soon as he sat next to her and put an arm around her she jumped slightly but calmed down when she realized it was him. She was still shaking and she looked down,"I...I...it's...I'm sorreh,"shbe muttered feeling guilty for scaring him and worrying him. She looked up into his eyes and bit her bottom lip,"ya shouldn't have ta keep watc ova me like this,"she muttered.

Chase squeezed Ace even tighter. "Don't apologize. It ain't yer fault. It's ok ya don't hafta be scared anymore, i won't let anythin' happen ta ya. I promise." He whispered the last part in her ear. Once she'd stopped shaking he moved his arm away from her but stayed next to her. "Come on, let's get outta hereh before everyone wakes up." He helped her stand up.
