They had made it safely to the Lodging house, Street was exhausted and he could see it in her eyes and they way she walked. He scooped her up in his arms they way a groom would carry a bride (the irony) and he carried her inside passed a few younger kids attempting to fall asleep in the mainroom area. He walked up the stairs with her toward her room and when he reached the door he nudged it open with his foot and carried her over to her bed before setting her down.
He smiled at her and headed back toward the door,"Ya should get some sleep Street....I should prolly get goin' and let ya do that..." he told her softly even though he wished he could stay with her and hold her in his arms while she slept, but he knew he could not ask her that. He slowly made his way to the door and put his hand on the doorknob to open the door so he could leave but something made him stop, he couldn't leave her....not like this.

Street was tired. She was hungry. And most of all, she was enjoying Hunter's company. When he picked her up, she was too tired to be surprised. She did however, notice the Bronxies in the main room, trying to find space on the couch. She would tell Asher about it when he got back, if he got back that is...
Hunter carried her into her room and Street was for once, not afraid to sleep in the Lodging House. She looked at Hunter as he turned around to go. "Hunta... Ya don't have ta leave..." She yawned. "In fact, stay please. S'long as you promise to be a good boy." She said, smiling sleepily. She strectched her arms out toward him, much like a child would to her parent. She was tired and she did not want to be alone, especially in her own Lodging House with all the youngsters running around. She had figured it out, the Bronx had more youngins then any other borough.

A smile crossed Hunter's face when he turned to her and saw her reaching out to him like a child, she was so adorable and he was glad she had asked that he stay. He walked slowly back over to the bed and he wrapped his arms around her as he slowly lie down with her. He looked into her eyes and kissed her cheek lightly,"Fer you Street I'd do anythin', even if that means I gotta be a good boy,"he said chuckling softly.
He slowly and gently ran his hand up and down her back soothingly trying to help her get o sleep as he absently closed his eyes, he hadn't realized how tired he actually was. He had been going and going for the past couple of weeks helping out Poet as much as he could and now he finally had silence, calmness, and the best thing ever, Street in his embrace.

Street snuggled into his chest as he lay down beside her. The bed was small, and he took up a lot of room, but she was small too, and she could make herself even smaller. She yawned and sighed happily when he kissed her cheek. She kissed his gently. She chuckled. "Yes, ya gotta be a good boy. Even if yer Poet's guard dog... Though I suppose," She said yawning, "She won't need ya as much 'cause she got married and all, but then again, Irish works a lot, Sean too..." She looked at him. "But yer gonna be around me fer me right? I don't mean ta sound selfish, but I need ya right now."
She enjoyed his hand on her back and she snuggled further into his chest. "Ya can go ta sleep too, ya know." She said, chuckling. "I don't think anythin's gonna get me while yer here, Hunta." Her eyes dropped further and soon, she was asleep, breathing gently.
